[んすび]
my work with Mizuhiki and Plant dye
Musu bi — tying hearts, beyond knots.
結びは、ただの形ではなく、心と心をつなぐもの。

Hajimemashite.
I am Yuki[幸] from Japan.
I began with a simple knot.
What I learned as a child in Japan was not only how to tie Mizuhiki, but how meaning can be held within form—how a single gesture can carry connection, care, and intention.
Over time, this quiet fascination grew into a deeper exploration of culture and human expression.
Not only through history, but through the materials themselves.
I am drawn to the beauty of natural fibers and color—learning the art of plant dyeing, working with both Japanese botanicals and Western plants, extracting pigments, and bringing new life into Mizuhiki through color.
For me, Mizuhiki is not only a tradition.
It is a language—
one that connects people, cultures, and ways of seeing the world.
